Premier League Round Up 23/1/11

Written by Matthew Winter

Arsenal 5-1 West Ham United
Arsenal brushed aside their London rivals with a dazzling second half display where they scored 4 goals in ten second half minutes. But after 17 minutes West Ham took the lead. A Iron's corner was not cleared well and Jack Collison thrashed the ball past Szczesny in the Arsenal goal. 5 minutes later and Arsenal were level. Lukas Podolski (pictured) fired an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner from full 25 yards and the teams went in at the break all square. Quickfire goals at the beginning of the second half from Giroud (2), Cazorla and Walcott put the game beyond West Ham. The game ended on a sad note with young West Ham substitute Dan Potts having to receive lengthy treatment and leave the pitch on a stretcher after a clash of heads with Bacary Sagna.

Man of the Match: Lukas Podolski
